Listener Comment (Kathleen) – Multi-Channel Retailing

Following Episode 40:

Q: They will want it in thirty minutes or free….sorry I disagree. It’s fine to be available for people but to be at the end of an app 24/7 is creating an unhealthy expectation.
A: Thank you for taking the time to listen to this week’s episode and provide feedback, it is much appreciated. I agree that patient’s can be very demanding, especially when they are promised an easier method in which to order and in-store processes have not been enhanced/optimised to assist pharmacists deliver this new type of workflow. As we will discuss further in an upcoming episode with Ian Bennett from Pharmacy 4U, it is essential that the pharmacy team have the necessary tools and training to ensure patient’s who choose to engage via an app/website are acknowledged in the same prompt manner as those presenting in-store, and also provided with a realistic time frame for order completion/in-store pickup or delivery. Ultimately, our patients (by way of adoption rates) will help us decide if this additional service channel is useful for them.

Listener Comment (Bishoy) – Customer Data (Privacy)

Following Episode 41:

Q: Dear Rob and Fabian,
I am very interested in Sendascript and in particular its POS potential capabilities, through iBeacons and the like. Currently I use MedAdvisor in one of my stores and whilst this has been a great ‘customer-engagement’ application, it essentially requires a patient to firstly make contact with the pharmacy, whether through general custom or filling a script before we have the chance of signing them up. The other hurdle we commonly face is in regards to the ‘privacy and security’ of the app and who really holds or has access to the customer’s information
My question is therefore is 2 fold:
1- Are customers able to directly join/subscribe to sendacript without an initial interaction with the pharmacy? As you may be aware in the case of MedAdvisor, to become fully functional, the customer requires an activation code
2- Are any private customer details/information held by any 3rd party involved? If so, what type of privacy/security measures does sendacript provide to ensure it in fact remains secure and private
Regards,

My 3 Key Learnings

  • 1. Design your customer experiences.
    2. Look outside the pharmacy industry for examples of premium customer experiences (e.g. Restaurants)
    3. Allow our customers and our partners to collaborate with us to build our patient centric pharmacies.
